S - Stay Calm
Your calm presence helps the person seizing and those around you. Panic spreads, but so does peace.
T - Time the Seizure
Note when it starts. If it lasts more than 5 minutes, call 911 immediately.
E - Environment Safety
Clear the area of sharp objects, hard surfaces, and anything that could cause injury. Cushion their head if possible.
P - Position Safely
Turn them on their side (recovery position) to keep airways clear. Never restrain them or put anything in their mouth.
π WHY IN-PERSON MATTERS
IN-PERSON IMPORTANCE
Many support groups moved online during the pandemic and never came back. But there's something irreplaceable about sitting in a room with others who understand, hearing voices filled with hope, feeling a hand on your shoulder, and knowing you're not alone. We offer what online groups can't: human connection, real hugs, and face-to-face encouragement.
